The role: The Junior Merchandiser will be a key asset to the Merchandising team, with the ownership of forecasting, planning, stock management and availability for a group of suppliers.

 

What you’ll be doing:

Ownership of set suppliers, developing positive working relationships with supplier’s through weekly calls, brand reviews & bi-annual Strategy meetings; along with Buying counterpart.

Weekly replenishment and newness ordering management and management of OTB, to ensure sufficient cover levels.

Forecast management and collaboration with suppliers, with the goal of supporting planning, maximising forecast accuracy and delivery fulfilment to achieve sales and availability targets.

Reporting for Weekly Trading Meetings, and proactively proposing actions to the Commercial Team.

Responsible for range planning and rationalisation, managing and overseeing assigned brands during range reviews. Includes streamlining lines at brand level to ensure optimised assortments and distribution.

Stock management of slow-moving lines, proposing recommendations where appropriate. Discontinued stock management through agreed routes.

Review product availability, assess issues and propose actions with the goal of improving availability and providing solutions. 

Cross-functional collaboration with various departments, to maximise opportunities.  

Deputise for Merchandiser when required.  

 

What you’ll bring:

Experience working within a fast-paced Retail environment, either at a Junior Merchandising level or Assistant Merchandising level 

Strong organisational & planning ability.  

Excellent communication skills.  

Analytical mind-set with commercial awareness.  

Experience managing brands is desirable but not essential.
