Company Description:
Per-Scent is a global distributor of leading fragrances. We are going through a period of technical development and are seeking a dynamic and experienced E-commerce Trading Manager to “own” and optimise our multi-channel online trading operations. This role is critical to delivering and expanding our business strategy within the beauty and fragrance industries.
The role:
You will report to the Sales Director and will be responsible for managing our B2C e-commerce platforms, driving sales growth, enhancing customer experience, and ensuring efficient inventory and pricing strategies across all channels, including Beauty Scent, Scent Outlet, and eBay maximising profitability and ROI.
You will oversee the day-to-day performance and operational management of the websites & marketplaces, ensuring all digital activities (digital marketing and promotional activity) and supporting processes are followed and delivered appropriately according to the relevant critical paths. A multidisciplinary role, the Ecommerce Trading Manager also plays an important role in the continuous optimisation of the customer journey.
Responsibilities:
Digital Strategy & Performance
- Create digital strategies to grow web traffic across key channels and marketplaces, e.g. manage SEO/PPC and effectiveness of key terms in search results to drive increased, relevant website traffic to meet business KPI’s and report on progress and performance
- Analyse and optimise search terms to meet KPIs and improve visibility.
- Report on digital performance and propose actionable improvements.
- Manage all aspects of website performance and trade to deliver against core business drivers (sales growth, acquisition and retention); ensuring Performance Marketing and CRM activity is managed efficiently
Sales & Merchandising
- Monitor daily sales, identifying improvement opportunities and propose actions to increase sales especially for slow seller, reporting weekly to the senior management team.
- Collaborate with supply chain, buying and warehouse teams to identify trending and high-demand products.
- Coordinate with the Business Systems department on the creation of detailed product content, including descriptions, images, and specifications.
- Ensure accurate, detailed product content (descriptions, images, specifications) across all platforms.
- Oversee site merchandising aligned with stock movements, product performance, analytics, and trends.
- Manage the trading calendar and coordinate promotions, pricing strategies, and upselling initiatives to increase average order value (AOV).
Website Management & Optimisation
- Enhance site usability, navigation, and speed to improve user experience and conversion rates.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver end-to-end ecommerce processes and solutions.
- Identify and implement site enhancements (e.g., search functionality, navigation improvements) to meet business objectives.
- Monitor competitor performance and stay informed on industry trends for continuous optimisation.
- Be knowledgeable in all products, ranges, monitoring competitor performance and industry trends to inform strategies.
- Input into the Ecommerce development roadmap based on marketplace/customer insight.
Customer Insights & Competitor Analysis
Leverage customer insights and competitor analysis to inform ecommerce development strategies.
Drive initiatives to improve user journeys, increase AOV, and optimise promotional activities.
Collaboration & Process Improvement
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (business systems, finance, warehousing, and customer service) to deliver seamless end-to-end ecommerce processes.
- Maintain frequent communication with the Operations & Supply Chain team to promptly resolve issues.
Operational Oversight
- Manage fraud prevention strategies and ensure robust solutions are in place.
- Contribute to the annual ecommerce budget, forecasting, and P&L performance analysis.
About you:
- 3+ years of experience as an Ecommerce Trading Manager in a B2C/marketplace environment.
- Proven ability to achieve sales targets and ROI through strategic ecommerce management.
- Strong knowledge of Shopify and eBay marketplace management; experience with Linnworks or similar platforms is preferred.
- Skilled in Google Analytics for monitoring activity and generating insights.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with strong analytical and Excel proficiency.
- Commercially focused, with experience in pricing and promotional strategies.
- Exceptional time management and prioritisation skills.
- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
