Role Overview:

 

The Manager of New Product Development at Per Scent will oversee the sourcing and management of suppliers and manufacturers for our expanding product range. This role involves close collaboration with the Brand Manager and Designer on various product elements, including packaging, ingredients, and design specifications. Key responsibilities include daily monitoring of line development, cost management, quality assurance, and sample approval processes. The manager will also plan and introduce new product concepts, ensure compliance with legal requirements, and support presentations to retailers. Additionally, this role includes training and managing the Assistant Product Manager.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

*       Collaborate closely with the Brand Manager and Designer on packaging, shades, ingredients, line plans, and other product details.

*       Identify and research seasonal color palettes, new ingredients, and emerging product categories.

*       Monitor the status of line development daily, encompassing design, production, and technical aspects.

*       Analyze and evaluate all price quotes.

*       Work with suppliers to ensure target costs are achieved.

*       Use technical knowledge and formal guidelines to approve all products for quality, shade, texture, and appearance.

*       Approve prototype samples for construction style details.

*       Maintain updated design specification packages for the Designer and manufacturing partners.

*       Manage the approval process for all sample submissions.

*       Outline and plan new product development initiatives.

*       Introduce testing for new concepts and styles.

*       Communicate daily with management, Brand Manager, and Designer.

*       Train, develop, and manage the Assistant Product Manager.

*       Establish and manage safety checks as necessary.

*       Ensure all products comply with legal requirements.

*       Assist in formulating presentations for retailers and other markets.

This position is based at our Head Office in Trafford Park. However, travel to our London office, suppliers, and customers may be required. Appropriate travel and accommodation costs will be reimbursed.
