Key Responsibilities
Some of the key responsibilities will include:
* Develop and implement a merchandising strategy that aligns with the company's overall goals and market trends.
* Forecast volume, sales and margin for all lines and refine processes to help improve forecast accuracy.
* Collaborate on budget plans and re-forecasts with the Head of Buying and CFO.
* Manage key performance indicators such as stock efficiency, and availability.
* Develop initiatives to drive efficiency and stock reduction plans.
* Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to inform product and inventory decisions.
* Ensure optimal stock levels to minimise overstocking, balancing profitability and customer satisfaction.
* Collaborate closely with suppliers to negotiate terms, secure stock, and maintain strong relationships.
* Lead, mentor, and develop the merchandising team to achieve departmental and individual goals.
* Management of WSSI & Supplier WSSI
* Working with the warehouse teams on goods inbound & outbound plans to stores.
* Allocation management of store picks.
Required Experience and Skills
The ideal candidate will have +10-year experience in the fragrance/beauty industry, working with major brands within the International/European environment.
They will also demonstrate the following:
* Relevant degree or at least 5 years’ experience in industry
* Experience as a Head of Merchandising
* Senior level supply chain and logistics experience with a track record of operational service level and efficiency improvement
* Proven ability to lead and manage complex projects within timeline and budgetary constraints across functional areas.
* A proven history of success in delivering a profitable and innovative product range.
* Confident, articulate, and able to influence at all levels with exceptional leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong leadership and motivational skills
* Genuine team player at all levels
* Experience of FMCG range management
* Both numerate and analytical, using these skills to present relevant data to key stakeholders.
* Understanding of data analysis and forecasting methods
* An analytical mind with a strategic ability
